Compostable, beautiful, alternative packaging filler made out of Sholapith material.
A project based on sustainability that focuses on eliminating waste from the packaging industry. Each day we see a lot of waste around us, especially packaging fillers like plastic peanuts, air cushion bags and sometimes thermocol loose filler.
This is where Shola Blooms come in. Made from a material called sholapith found in the swamps of Bengal, the stem is turned into thin sheets and we make flowers ‘bloom’ out of it.
This is compostable. They can be dumped anywhere in the nature and will return to soil two to three weeks.
They are soft enough not to damage your precious goods but hard enough to protect them from impact.
They come in various sizes depending upon your choice of object. they can protect the most delicate of jewelleries, they can protect your glass products, and yes they also passed the egg test!
With this project I aim to turn every packaging filler into safe, sustainable and beautiful flowers.
“Artisans transform the sholapith plant into natural padding that replaces polystyrene and foam. The material is compostable, harmless if returned to nature, and gives traditional craftsmanship a fresh market. The model creates rural jobs, preserves cultural heritage and helps brands phase out polluting fillers, aligning everyday shipping with conscious, community-centred living.”
